Nirvana

Oh Nirvana. Complete bliss. An early 90's band that invented the Grunge genre. They released 3 albums in their short career as a band, Bleach, In Utero, and Nevermind. The band was going strong and then the bands frontman Kurt Cobain died of an overdose, i believe it was heroin. The songs, as catchy as they were, usually made close to no sense. Metallica

Busting on the heavy metal scene breaking ground and practically birthing the thrash metal genre. Their debut album Kill Em All blended raw, uncut, in your face lyrics while laying down fast paced guitar riffs and neck shredding solos. When the band first formed they had Dave Mustaine in their line-up, but due to partying to hard they kicked him out. Then they enlisted Kirk as their lead guitarist to be a part of the Metal Militia. They went on to release multiple albums, eventually selling out and sobering up. The untimely death of their bassist shook the band, they replaced him with Jason and put out a couple solid albums but he eventually left because they hazed him too much (pretty big pussy right?) They then got their current bassist Robert and released about 2 or 3 sub-par albums.

Franz Ferdinand

Well this band is fairly well known. Releasing a couple albums over the years this band has put hard work into their songs. Lyrics wise not they aren't the most creative, and the riffs could use some work. All in all they provide a style of music most can enjoy and groove to.

Tool

What more can be said about this band that hasn't been said already? They blend the rock, metal, nu-metal genre perfectly. Favorite song has to be The Pot. The musical talent they have is outstanding to say the least. The bass riffs mixed with the guitar riffs is a thing of beauty. The drums are fucking mindblowing and the whisper singing along with the lyrics make me jizz my pants a thousand times over. I can think of nothing more to say about this amazing band other than buy/torrent their albums and have plenty of handi wipes by your side.

Incubus

INCUBUS!!! As you can probably tell by now I love this band. I haven't met many people that don't like this band. The lyrics, style, and musical talent this band possesses is incredible. One of my personal favorite albums is Fungus Amongus (see what they did there?) it blends rock, jazz, and some other genre (I think it's fusion) together to form one eargasmic album. Light Grenades was a bit of a miss but I liked it overall. There isn't much else to say about this band other than their fucking amazing and the underlying messages will blow your mind when you discover them.

Linkin Park

Ahh Linkin Park, a one amazing band has become stale. Got their start with an appearance at Ozzfest if i remember correctly. Releasing something like 3 or 4 albums and a few Ep's here and there, this band has been through it all. Some may think collaborating with Jay-Z was a balsy move on their part but it actually helped them gain a larger fanbase recruiting Jay-Z fans. Their most recent album Thousand Suns or something like that in my personal opinion was complete shit. Offended? Deal. It's my opinion. Anyway. Minutes to Midnight didn't really go over too well with fans, most saying "hey man, they sold out". However true that may be it's still a decent album. Of course it's no Hybrid Theory or Meteora but it's pretty damn good. Now Reanimation is their remix Ep/Album and I personally didn't like it that much. I found it unnecessary, remixing nu-metal songs and all. But people loved it all the same. I give this good ol' band a 9.5/10

Asking Alexandria

First review, here we go:
Asking Alexandra is a pretty decent post-metalcore band. They have some pretty solid screams and lyrics. However the overuse of auto-tune can be bothersome to some listeners. They currently have released 1 studio album entitled Stand Up And Scream, which i personally love and and EP entitled Life Gone Wild, which is nowhere near as good as the studio album which saddened me. It's filled with 4 or 5 covers and a demo of a song on their first album. Yeah, that's right, a demo that was released after the studio version. Most fans however already knew of this demo.
I give Stand Up And Scream a 9.5/10 and Life Gone Wild a 3/10
